| Our Mission Statement |
The Lutheran Church is a mainstream Christian Protestant Church that has been represented in Australia since the 1850's. St Paul's Lutheran Church has been on our present location in St Marys for more than 50 years. We view the church as being like 'God's open house' where you can come to grow in your faith surrounded by the best things God has to offer for people of all ages.
|
| Our Core Beliefs |
Along with our fellow Lutherans in Australia and around the world, we hold that:
We accept without reservation the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, as a whole and in all their parts, as the divinely inspired, written and inerrant Word of God, and as the only infallible source and norm for all matters of faith, doctrine and life.
We acknowledge and accept as true expositions of the Word of God, and our own confession, all the Symbolical Books of the Evangelical Lutheran Church contained in
The Book of Concord of 1580.
We bear witness that our relationship with God and with each other has been renewed by God's grace alone, through the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ alone, and is received by every Christian through faith alone, as described in the Holy Scriptures alone.
| Our Pastor |
|
Pastor David came to us from Faith Lutheran Community Church at Watanobbi on the Central Coast in May 2004. Pastor David and his wife Sherry migrated to Australia from the United States and made Watanobbi their home in Australia. They have a son Allen and daughter-in-law Linda, who live in the United States, and they are proud grandparents of Kaylee, David and Cora. Pastor David and Sherry are raising their young Godson, Orion Blanch, who lives with them. In addition to his work in the Parish, Pastor David is active in the St Paul's Lutheran Kindergarten, provides volunteer pastoral care to the sick and injured in the Community, participates in Special Education in Scripture at the St Marys South Public School, and conducts special midweek worship at the St Marys Gardens Nursing Home on a monthly basis. You can reach him at the Church office, 02 9834 3756, at home, 02 9834 6478, on his mobile, 0414 521 661, or by email. |
